Claiming a Tax Deduction for Your Gift-In-Kind

The Library System is prohibited by law from valuing a gift that may receive. Staff librarians can explain the IRS regulations and provide copies of the official guidelines on gifts. Gifts-in-kind that will be used as tax deductions require independent appraisal prior to transfer to the Library System when valued in excess of $5000.
